World Press Freedom Heroes
In celebration of the 50th anniversary in 2000, the IPI board gave 50 awards for outstanding achievements in the struggle for press freedom.
Since then, IPI has posthumously honoured Russian investigative reporter Anna Politkovskaya and Turkish-Armenian editor Hrant Dink.

60 IPI World Press Freedom Heroes will be honoured at the IPI 2010 World Congress in Vienna and Bratislava (11-14 September 2010) to coincide with IPI's 60th year of defending and promoting press freedom worldwide.
